Payment of wages

Pursuant to the Employment Contracts Act (Työsopimuslaki, 55/2001), pay shall be paid on the last day of the pay period, unless otherwise agreed. Pay periods and pay days specific to the employment relationship are often set out in employment contracts or collective agreements. If the payday falls on a weekend, it will be moved to the nearest working day preceding the weekend.
